What's the difference between Atkins Pro and Atkins Retail?
We are primarily a pro lab. We always have been and our perfectionism suits professionals. However we have found there is a place in the market for a high service high quality retail product. Our retail brand Atkins Photo Lab offers a small selection of our range. For example, they can get albums and album design (popular with those left with only a USB) but they can only get silver halide albums not our Master Fine Art or our Matte Art Albums. Retail also cannot get access to our Atkins Hand Made Paper Prints either. And they pay higher prices as they often require much more service times than pro, who know what they are doing. Enjoy!
How can I qualify as a Atkins Pro client?
Atkins Pro Lab is our wholesale arm, created for those who are reselling their photography. It was established to help differentiate the clients we serve. Atkins’ retail space is also designed as a showroom where our Pro members can bring their clients to demonstrate and sell products with the knowledge there will be a wholesale margin for them.
To gain access to our Atkins Pro you will need to go through a short interview process where you can demonstrate your status. If you are new to Atkins, you will need to have some training on our systems and products, have a look through production, and meet our crew so your engagement with us can be as smooth as possible. This training takes approximately two hours.
Here are a the things we look for when assessing an Atkins Pro application, they are NOT essential, but will help you understand what we think an Atkins Pro customer is:
> Professionalism and quality in your photography practice
> Professionalism in the way you conduct your business
> Reselling or wanting to resell your photography
> Long experience at Atkins
> Understanding of Atkins system and products
> Adherence to our payment terms
> A student at an Atkins recognised training organisation
> An AIPP member
> An ABN (registration number to be taxed as a business)
