Elongated bowler hats. Flowing black coats. Stepping into the Hasidic community of South Williamsburg, New York one could be forgiven for thinking unwitting time travel had taken place. "South of Broadway" is a street-photographic study of life inside this enigmatic cultural island. A microcosm of the clash between tradition and change, the project takes this diaspora community as a point of departure for reflecting on issues of identity, heritage and inclusion.
Venue: Miss Gladys Sym Choon.
