Oztraya my home is an exhibition of photography by Don Oswald and Jadumani Singh
Don is a registered nurse and Jadu is a senior doctor; both work in Intensive Care. They are well aware that life can suddenly be cut short and is too often taken for granted, just as the beauty all around us may also be ignored.
Theirs can be all-consuming stressful, demanding work with long shifts and minimal breaks. But they do it because it is challenging and fulfilling work that they love. Don and Jadu find they can escape this maelstrom through photography. They capture the world in new ways by using the camera as an extension of both eye and imagination.
Now they want you to see the Australia they love as they have seen it - a country of contrasts and natural beauty. Through their creative work, they urge us to take notice of our surroundings before it’s too late.
